October 6, 2023

Imagine basking in the refreshing waters of your own personal VESSEL plunge pool. Our guide provides a step-by-step timeline, from selecting the perfect VESSEL to adding your personal touches to the surrounding hardscape.

Whether you want to enhance your outdoor space with an aquatic design feature, a therapy pool, hot soaking tub, or just want backyard fun for the kiddos, the process might seem daunting at first. Fear not, we've got you covered! Follow the steps and you'll have your dream VESSEL in no time. Let's get started:

Step 1: Determine Layout of Pool and Equipment

First things first. You need to decide what type of VESSEL you want.  Plunge pools are 5' deep, and the smaller, square VESSEL Spa, in development now, is 42" deep.  The two VESSEL models modulate with each other but also stand-alone.  Make your selection, and now it's time to determine the layout of the pool and equipment. This involves deciding where the VESSEL will be placed and where the equipment necessary to maintain it will be installed. Make sure to plan carefully before placing your order.

Step 2: Connect with a Preferred VESSEL Installer, or Line Up Subcontractors for Site Prep

Now that you have your VESSEL and layout determined, it's time to get the professionals involved. You can either connect with a preferred VESSEL installer or line up subcontractors for site preparation. These professionals will ensure that the site is ready for the installation of your VESSEL.

Step 3: Obtain Necessary Permits from Your Municipality

With any pool installation, before you can start construction, you must obtain permits. This step is crucial to ensure that your project complies with local building codes and regulations. So, make sure to fill out all the necessary paperwork and submit it on time.  We provide detailed, stamped construction drawings to speed up the process.

Step 4: Site Prep - Excavation and/or Pour Slab, Install Equipment Slab, Subpanel etc.

With your permits in hand, it's time to start preparing the site. This step involves excavation and/or pouring a slab for the VESSEL and equipment. A subpanel may also be necessary for the electrical components. Ensure that all these tasks are carried out by a licensed professional with precision and care to avoid any future issues.

Step 5: Schedule Delivery of VESSEL and Coordinate Crane for Offloading

The next step is to schedule the delivery of your VESSEL. Make sure to coordinate with a crane service for offloading, as the VESSEL can be quite heavy  to handle. Proper scheduling and coordination will ensure that the delivery and offloading process goes smoothly.

Step 6: Place VESSEL on Slab, Connect Electrical and Plumbing, Set Equipment and Grounding

Now it's time to place your VESSEL on the prepared slab. Connect all the necessary electrical and plumbing fixtures, and set up the equipment. Don't forget to ensure proper grounding for safety. A licensed electrician will know how to properly ground the pool and equipment, and some municipalities may require an inspection to ensure there are no safety hazards related to improper grounding.

Step 7: Backfill if Required, Finish Landscaping and Hardscape

Once your VESSEL is installed, you may need to backfill around it for support and stability. After that, it's time to finish up with the landscaping and hardscaping. This is the step where you can get creative and add personal touches to make your VESSEL area truly unique and appealing.  For installations that are above ground partially or entirely, The VESSEL exterior surface is tile-ready, a wonderful opportunity to add a decorative element to your outdoor space

Step 8: Fill and Enjoy!

Last but definitely not least, fill up your VESSEL and enjoy! After all the hard work and anticipation, it's finally time to reap the rewards. Whether it's a refreshing swim on a hot day or a relaxing soak in the evening, your new VESSEL is sure to provide endless enjoyment and become the new favorite spot in your home.

So, there you have it - a comprehensive step-by-step guide to building your own VESSEL. Remember, each step is crucial, so take your time and don't rush the process.
