Nobody wants to get caught with a dirty waterline! The waterline is a focal point of the swimming pool, and keeping it clean is an essential part of pool maintenance.
VESSEL Pools are coated with diamond tough VESSELKote. GemKote minimizes maintenance, but, over time, dirt, oil, debris and mineral scale accumulate. This leads to a diminished overall appearance. Stay in front of the buildup by adhering to a weekly cleaning schedule. If you do, you'll find that your VESSEL pool waterline maintenance is truly minimal.
To clean your pool waterline, prepare a cleaning solution: Mix a few drops of specialized pool tile cleaner with warm water in a bucket or spray bottle. For minimal scale buildup, we recommend "Calcium Releaser." This is a pool-specific cleaning product from Oceancare. Gently scrub the waterline using a scrub brush or scrub pad. For more significant scale buildup, follow the directions to make various concentrations of Sulfamic Acid from Aqua Mix. This product is specifically formulated for removing scale.
ALWAYS test these products on a sample tile, or in an inconspicuous area as they do contain acids and can cause damage if used improperly. Always wear appropriate safety gear, such as eye protection and gloves.
Do NOT use muriatic acid for cleaning any pool surfaces.
If you leave scale buildup unchecked, you will eventually need aggressive, or professional cleaning/descaling.
